Location: Chelmsford, MA

A short 27 miles from Boston, our office is centrally located just south of the confluence of US Route 3, Route 495, and the Lowell Connector, with a stop along the MBTA's Lowell bus route 15, and a short drive from the Lowell and Billerica commuter rail stops. This office is located along the developing Route 129 corridor in Chelmsford.


As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Have a primary role in an integrated, multi-disciplined team that solves technical challenges on projects of significant scope, size, and difficulty.
  • Complete assignments accurately and on time with limited direction from the Project Manager
  • Develop an understanding of project budget, scope of services, project development, project schedule and provide updates and recommendations to the Project Manager in maintaining schedule and budget
  • Understand the client's organization, key people, and client expectations.
  • Share best practices to improve performance and efficiency of self and team
  • Develop person-hour estimates and budgets with guidance from senior staff
  • Lead a small team for moderately complex projects
  • Assist in proposal efforts and development
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and feedback to develop entry-level and staff engineers, peers, and others as needed
  • Conduct site visits and participate in or lead meetings with clients/contractors
  • Demonstrate strong technical writing and presentation skills for deliverables, proposals, and presentation in a public setting (for clients or at seminars/conferences)

Requirements

Qualified Candidates will have:

  • BS (MS preferred) Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 5 - 10 years of relevant experience
  • Current PE in NH, MA, ME, or VT
  • Experience with MaineDOT, NHDOT, VTrans or MassDOT and municipal bridge projects
  • Experience with the software and programs which include AutoCAD, Microstation, Bridge Structural Analysis Programs, MathCad, BlueBeam, etc.
  • Salary is contingent on experience
