Job Description
Directs traffic to ensure efficient bridge operations. Provides customer service, directs vehicles to toll booth lanes, and dispatches communications with toll collectors and supervisors.
Essential Functions/ Job Competencies/ Physical Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
  • Directs vehicles to toll booth lanes.
  • Directs traffic flow at international bridges.
  • Monitors accidents and irregularities in and around an assigned work area; reports accidents and acts of vandalism.
  • Monitors export yards and assists customs in turning around traffic.
  • Paints and repairs barricades; cleans traffic cones.
  • Replaces traffic lights and toll gate barriers.
  • Assists collector to back up cars or trucks from lanes.
  • Assists in clearing accidents from toll lanes and bridge.
  • Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
