Senior Bridge Engineer (PE) - Structural - Houston TX
Halff has an open position for a Senior Bridge Engineer, with a Texas PE License, to join our Structural Engineering team based in our Houston, TX location. This position is for an individual with 5 to 15 years of experience in Bridge Engineering and, preferably, experience in the design of box culverts, sign and signal structures and sheet pile walls. This position will provide a unique opportunity to be involved in conventional bridge design projects, bridge repair and renovation projects, and non-technical tasks such as project management, business development and structures practice building. This role will allow you the opportunity to be trained and mentored by an experienced Bridge Engineer and to gain ever increasing professional responsibility. What you will do:
  • Will be responsible for the management of the complete design of structures projects
  • Will work in a fast-paced environment with longstanding, trusted clients, that require on-site investigations, bridge load ratings and coordination
  • Will manage production of design calculations and construction drawings
  • Will review contractor submittals and coordinate with inspection subconsultants during construction
  • Will participate in business development activities
  • Will be responsible for project budgets and schedules
  • As project manager, will coordinate effort with clients as well as in-house engineers and subconsultants
  • Will assist in training and supervising less experienced engineers and designers
What you will need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Architectural Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
  • Master’s Degree in Civil/Architectural Engineering with a Structural emphasis or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas, or able and willing to obtain a Texas PE License within 6 months of start date
  • A minimum of 5 to 15 years of experience in Bridge / Structural Design
  • Experience managing structural design and plan production
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients
  • MicroStation, Revit or AutoCAD training is a plus
