Job description

Location: Chicago, Illinois (On-site)
Commitment: Full-time
Department: Retail
Compensation: $20-$25 per hour, plus 3% commission
Company Overview
A growing, family-operated bridal retailer is opening a new Chicago location and seeking a talented Bridal Stylist who can combine thoughtful styling, warm customer service, and confident sales. Known for creating an inclusive and highly personalized shopping experience, the team is passionate about ensuring every client feels heard, celebrated, and supported throughout their bridal journey.
The retailer proudly represents a nationally recognized bridal brand and has pioneered the first specialty curvy bridal brand, helping redefine the bridal shopping experience for women of all shapes and sizes.
Position Overview
As a Bridal Stylist, you'll guide clients through one of the most meaningful purchases of their lives, creating a personalized and memorable experience from the first fitting through the final "yes." This full-time, on-site role blends consultative selling, fashion and styling expertise, relationship-building, and hands-on store support. You'll build genuine connections with clients, confidently guide purchasing decisions, drive sales, and contribute to the overall success of the store.
The ideal candidate is warm, polished, and engaging, with exceptional communication skills and a natural ability to connect with people. You're energized by creating memorable experiences, motivated by goals, and confident in your ability to turn strong client relationships into successful sales. A proven track record in sales, closing, and exceptional customer service is highly valued.
This position reports to the Company Directors and works closely with the General Manager, Assistant Manager, and Operations & Marketing Manager.
Key Responsibilities
• Welcome each client and create an attentive, comfortable, and inclusive appointment experience from arrival through follow-up.
• Ask thoughtful questions to understand each client's style, fit preferences, event needs, timeline, and budget.
• Curate and present gowns, accessories, and complementary merchandise while clearly explaining product features and benefits.
• Meet and exceed individual sales goals through consultative selling, thoughtful recommendations, objection handling, and confident closing.
• Maintain current knowledge of bridal fashion, merchandise, fit, designers, and emerging trends.
• Support clients in and out of fitting rooms, remain attentive throughout appointments, and handle all samples and inventory with care.
• Follow up promptly regarding orders, merchandise status, and next steps, and help strengthen long-term client relationships.
• Complete point-of-sale transactions and related records accurately and efficiently.
• Support visual merchandising, new-merchandise preparation, gown steaming and delivery, stock organization, and loss-prevention practices.
• Maintain clean, organized fitting rooms, aisles, mirrors, displays, and sales-floor areas throughout the day.
• Collaborate positively with store leadership and fellow stylists while following all company policies and procedures.
• Perform other reasonable store and client-service duties assigned by management.
Skills & Requirements
• Bridal sales experience is strongly preferred.
• Prior success in bridal, luxury, fashion, specialty retail, hospitality, or another high-touch sales environment is valuable.
• Strong consultative selling and closing skills, with the motivation to achieve individual and team goals.
• Friendly, polished, emotionally intelligent, and comfortable building rapport with clients and their guests.
• Clear communication, active listening, reliability, accountability, and a collaborative team mindset.
• Basic comfort with computers, point-of-sale systems, and routine record keeping.
• Availability to work Saturdays and scheduled Sundays or other weekend shifts as business needs require.
• Ability to stand and walk for the full shift and occasionally unpack merchandise, hang garments, handle freight boxes, and use a small ladder.
Join the Team
This is an opportunity to help launch a new Chicago store, build lasting client relationships, and create joyful experiences during life's most meaningful celebrations. Apply today if you are passionate about bridal fashion, exceptional service, and results-driven selling.
