Job description

Store Manager – Bricks & Minifigs

Job Type: Full-Time Location: Ann Arbor, MI

About Us

Bricks & Minifigs is a fast-growing LEGO® resale and hobby retail concept built around building, rebuilding, and helping people rediscover the joy of LEGO. Our stores blend retail, custom builds, and trade-in inventory into an experience customers can't get anywhere else — and we're looking for a Store Manager who can lead a team that brings that experience to life every day.

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on, accountable Store Manager to own the day-to-day success of the store. This is a leadership role that blends operations, people management, and hustle: you'll drive stronger merchandising and store presentation, keep inventory and trade workflows running smoothly, build schedules that keep the store covered, support marketing and social media efforts, and hold the team accountable to a high standard every shift.

If you love retail, love LEGO, and want to build a team and a store you're proud of, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

Merchandising & Store Presentation

  • Raise the bar on merchandising standards across the sales floor, prebuild, and display areas
  • Oversee set certification, quality checks, and display upkeep so product always meets store standards
  • Drive backroom and supply organization, with clear, consistent homes for frequently used items
  • Identify inefficiencies in store layout or workflow and lead the fix

Inventory & Trade Workflows

  • Own inventory processing, pricing, count accuracy, and product recovery
  • Oversee trade intake — sorting, cleaning, rebuilding, and prepping incoming inventory for the floor
  • Keep bulk, premium bulk, and minifigure part sorting on track and organized

Scheduling & Staffing

  • Build and manage team schedules that keep the store covered, including evenings and weekends
  • Ensure shift supervisors and key holders are equipped to run the store confidently when you're not on the floor
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training for new team members

Marketing & Social Media

  • Own a consistent, dependable social media and marketing cadence for the store
  • Coordinate content capture for product, displays, team moments, and new drops
  • Support local marketing and community events that drive store traffic

Team Leadership & Accountability

  • Set clear daily and weekly priorities so there's never uncertainty about what the team should be working on
  • Follow up on assigned tasks until they're actually finished — not just started
  • Coach and correct in the moment, and reinforce expectations consistently
  • Build a culture of shared ownership, pride, and productive use of time
  • Bring recurring issues or gaps to ownership clearly and constructively

Customer Experience

  • Set the tone for a welcoming, helpful shopping experience on every shift
  • Make sure the team has the product knowledge to support customers with rebuilds, trades, and custom builds
  • Handle escalated customer situations with professionalism

What We're Looking For

  • Prior retail leadership or management experience (required); specialty, hobby, or collectibles retail experience is a plus
  • Experience with merchandising, inventory management, or retail operations
  • Comfort building and managing staff schedules
  • Familiarity with social media or marketing for a small business or retail location
  • A track record of holding a team accountable while keeping morale high
  • Availability for opening and/or closing shifts, including weekends
  • A genuine interest in LEGO, building, and creative retail is a big plus

What We Offer

  • Flexible scheduling that works with your life
  • Employee discounts on LEGO® products, used sets, and accessories store-wide
  • Paid time off (PTO) after 90 days of employment
  • Bonuses tied to sales goals, store success, and special events
  • Real growth opportunities — we build careers, not just shifts
  • A creative, fun, team-oriented environment
