Job description

Job Title: Carpenter / Building Craftsman
Job Description

This role supports field operations by performing a wide range of carpentry, concrete, and masonry tasks on commercial, municipal, educational, agricultural, and industrial jobsites. You will work as part of a skilled field crew, contributing to the construction, repair, and finishing of structures and foundations while using hand and power tools safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with carpentry tasks, including framing, wall construction, and general building work on various types of projects.
  • Perform concrete work such as setting forms, placing, finishing, and curing concrete for foundations, flatwork, and other structural elements.
  • Support masonry operations, including brick laying, block work, and related masonry finishing tasks.
  • Help construct and repair foundations, walls, and flatwork for commercial, municipal, educational, agricultural, and industrial structures.
  • Operate and assist with excavating activities, including grading and site preparation using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete carpentry, concrete, and masonry assignments.
  • Work as part of a field crew to complete projects on schedule while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Follow directions from supervisors and experienced craftspeople to learn and apply best practices in construction and finishing.

The environment is hands-on and physically demanding, involving outdoor work in varying weather conditions and active use of hand and power tools, as well as participation in concrete, masonry, carpentry, and excavating activities. Transportation from the shop to jobsites is available each morning for those who need it, supporting a coordinated and team-focused workday.
