Beer Capitol in Sussex, WI is now hiring a Delivery Driver Lead. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of beer and/or liquor to customer accounts. In addition to managing deliveries, the Driver Lead oversees the training of team members on delivery and safety protocols, handles relief routes as needed, and collaborates with management to maintain high team performance standards.


A Class A CDL is required for our Driver Lead, as well as a clean driving record.


Schedule:

4-Day Work Week! Tuesday through Friday, start times are between 5:00am - 6:00am, end times between 3:00pm - 5:00pm (start and end times will vary due to seasonality; flexibility in the morning and afternoon is a must). An occasional Monday or weekend day may be required as needed.

Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver pre-ordered products to various customers within our distribution territory.
  2. Unload and transport an average of 800 cases of products daily, with some items weighing up to 160 lbs, at customer sites.
  3. Merchandise, stock, rotate products, and set up displays at customer locations.
  4. Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
  5. Collect payments from customers as required.
  6. Clean and wash the truck on a weekly basis or as needed.
  7. Complete accurate daily paperwork and reporting.
  8. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle and submit reports as instructed.
  9. Ride along with new hires to train them on delivery procedures, routes, and company standards.
  10. Evaluate driver performance and address any issues among the team.
  11. Provide safety training for new and current staff and ensure adherence to safety rules and regulations.
  12. Run relief routes when necessary.
  13. Collaborate with management to address driver deficiencies and handle complaints.
  14. Gather feedback from drivers to improve the delivery process.
  15. Ride with drivers to monitor their performance and ensure compliance with company procedures.
  16. Assist with store resets as needed.
  17. Support management with daily operations and scheduling.
  18. Perform regular vehicle inspections to ensure safety and functionality.
  19. Motivate and inspire the team to achieve high performance.
  20. Assist management with daily route planning and scheduling.
  21. Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Strong interpersonal skills; friendly, approachable, and easy to engage with.
  2. Knowledgeable of road rules and committed to following safe driving laws.
  3. Self-motivated with attention to detail.
  4. Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate with all levels of the organization, including merchandisers and the sales team.
  5. Capable of working independently and comfortably in coolers for extended periods.
  6. Familiarity with account and brewery standards.
  7. In-depth understanding of traffic laws.
  8. Extensive knowledge of brewery and supplier standards.
  9. Advanced skills in driving and handling all delivery vehicles in the fleet.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.

2. Safe driving record that meets the standards set by the FBG Safety Team.

3. Valid Class A CDL and Fed Med card is required.

4. Forklift and power jack certification required.

5. Certification in operating forklifts and electric power jacks required.

6. Proficient in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and walkies.

7. 1-2 years of experience in the industry preferred.


Physical Requirement Summary:

  1. Able to regularly lift, move, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 160 pounds.
  2. Capable of sitting for extended periods while driving.
  3. Able to twist, turn, crouch, stoop, and squat frequently throughout the workday, including in inclement weather.
