Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager in the Greater New England area to support Brennan's commercial diving and marine construction operations.
This role is primarily focused on managing commercial diving work, with an emphasis on time-and-materials projects, inspection, maintenance, repair, emergency response, and underwater construction. The Project Manager will be responsible for taking multiple diving projects from initial client request through estimating, proposal development, planning, field execution, billing, change management, and closeout. This role will also support lump sum marine construction projects as workload requires.
The ideal candidate understands the pace of diving services work, where multiple jobs may be active at once and strong control of scope, cost, schedule, documentation, safety, and client communication is critical.
The position works closely with senior leadership, Superintendents, dive supervisors, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, safety personnel, engineers, and owners to execute safe, efficient, high-quality work.
Project Manager Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple commercial diving projects from initial lead through final closeout.
  • Lead project setup, scope development, estimating support, proposal preparation, scheduling, field coordination, cost tracking, billing support, change management, reporting, and closeout.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, maintaining clear communication with clients, superintendents, dive supervisors, crews, subcontractors, vendors, and internal leadership.
  • Support estimating and business development through site reviews, takeoffs, scope quoting, T&M rate development, bid reviews, proposal preparation, and contract support.
  • Coordinate dive crew planning, equipment planning, subcontractor support, procurement, safety documentation, client communication, and required pre-work submittals.
  • Track project financial performance, including labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor costs, job cost updates, forecasting, owner billing, and backup documentation.
  • Prepare and manage RFQs, contract modifications, change orders, extra work requests, and related project correspondence.
  • Maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, inspection records, dive logs, daily reports, submittals, cost reports, material/equipment logs, and billing support.
  • Work closely with field leadership to plan and execute safe, efficient diving operations while managing client expectations, contract requirements, site constraints, and production realities.
  • Identify and resolve field issues, scope gaps, incomplete information, and technical questions with owners, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal leadership.
  • Conduct site visits to support field execution, client relationships, planning, safety, and issue resolution.
  • Support lump sum marine construction projects as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Project Manager Qualifications:
  • Required B.S. in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, construction management or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience with the marine construction field.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, problem solving skills and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to internal and external clients
  • Knowledge of project management control systems (scheduling, cost control, procurement, value engineering and estimating)
  • Able to read and interpret project specifications, prepare project submittals, and prepare post job reports
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word along with scheduling and project management software (i.e. Primavera P6, MS Project)
  • Work independently yet part of a team
