Foundation Background

HERS Breast Cancer Foundation is a Bay Area nonprofit organization committed to empowering individuals healing from breast cancer by providing post-surgical products and support, regardless of financial status. With program stores located in Fremont and San Leandro, HERS offers a private and compassionate environment where patients receive assessment and fitting services for products such as pocketed bras, breast prostheses, lymphedema compression garments, and wigs.


The Foundation's goal is to restore our patients' sense of "HERS" -- Hope, Empowerment, Renewal, and Support. Our products and services help breast cancer patients heal physically and emotionally during one of the most challenging times of their lives. About this Role

The Breast Care Specialist (BCS) is a full-time in-person role at our Fremont location. In this position, you will provide personalized fitting services for breast cancer survivors for prescribed products such pocketed bras, breast prostheses, and lymphedema compression garments, while delivering compassionate and professional patient care. Additional responsibilities include patient charting and product ordering.


No prior experience as a mastectomy fitter is necessary; the Foundation will train you! In addition, HERS will cover your coursework and test fees to obtain your mastectomy fitter certification ("CFm"). One you obtain your mastectomy fitter certification, your hourly wage is increases to $25/hour.
