Position Summary

At Hyatt Regency Atlanta Perimeter at Villa Christina, exceptional hospitality begins with exceptional people. 

We are seeking an energetic and service-focused Server / Barista who enjoys connecting with guests and creating welcoming dining and beverage experiences.

The Server / Barista provides attentive food and beverage service while preparing high-quality coffee, espresso, and specialty beverages. This role may support the hotel restaurant, coffee outlet, breakfast service, grab-and-go market, banquets, and other Food & Beverage areas based on business needs.

The position is responsible for taking and delivering guest orders, preparing beverages, processing transactions, maintaining clean and organized service areas, and ensuring each guest receives prompt, friendly, and professional service.

Prepare Coffee & Specialty Beverages
  • Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, cappuccino, lattes, teas, blended beverages, and other specialty drinks according to established recipes and standards.
  • Operate espresso machines, coffee brewers, grinders, blenders, and other beverage equipment safely and correctly.
  • Maintain consistency in beverage quality, temperature, portion size, presentation, and preparation.
  • Properly steam and prepare milk and milk alternatives according to guest preferences.
  • Maintain knowledge of available coffee products, beverage ingredients, flavors, and seasonal offerings.
  • Customize beverages accurately based on guest requests.
  • Maintain appropriate supplies of coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, lids, condiments, and other beverage products.
  • Monitor product freshness and rotate supplies appropriately.
Provide Food & Beverage Service
  • Accurately take guest orders and communicate special requests or dietary needs to the Culinary team.
  • Serve food and beverages according to hotel service standards.
  • Deliver orders promptly and ensure proper presentation before serving guests.
  • Monitor tables and guest areas to identify additional service needs.
  • Clear used dishes, glassware, and service items in a timely manner.
  • Assist with setting, resetting, and maintaining tables and service areas.
  • Coordinate closely with Culinary associates to ensure accurate and timely food delivery.
  • Support breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee service, and other hotel Food & Beverage operations as assigned.
  • Assist with room service, banquet, market, or special-event service when operationally required.
Support Breakfast Operations
  • Assist with breakfast setup, service, replenishment, and breakdown as assigned.
  • Maintain attractive and properly stocked breakfast displays and service stations.
  • Replenish food, beverages, condiments, utensils, plates, cups, and other supplies.
  • Monitor buffet and service areas to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and product availability.
  • Communicate food replenishment needs promptly to the Culinary team.
  • Maintain appropriate food temperatures and follow established food-safety procedures.
  • Assist guests with breakfast selections and respond to questions regarding available items.
Process Guest Transactions
  • Accurately process cash, credit card, room-charge, and other approved transactions.
  • Enter all food and beverage purchases into the appropriate point-of-sale system.
  • Present guest checks accurately and process payments efficiently.
  • Follow procedures related to discounts, complimentary items, voids, refunds, transfers, and adjustments.
  • Verify room-charge information and guest authorization when applicable.
  • Maintain accountability for an assigned cash drawer or bank.
  • Reconcile transactions at the end of the shift and report discrepancies to management.
  • Protect guest payment information and follow established financial-control procedures.
Maintain Service Areas & Product Readiness
  • Maintain clean, organized, sanitary, and well-stocked restaurant, coffee, and service areas.
  • Clean and sanitize counters, tables, coffee equipment, beverage stations, utensils, and work surfaces.
  • Maintain clean glassware, dishes, cups, silverware, and service equipment.
  • Stock and replenish food, beverages, condiments, paper products, and operating supplies.
  • Complete assigned opening, ongoing, and closing responsibilities.
  • Maintain appropriate product rotation and storage procedures.
  • Immediately clean spills and identify potential safety hazards.
  • Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment to management.
  • Support organization and cleanliness of storage and back-of-house areas.
Promote Sales & Enhance the Guest Experience
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, specialty beverages, daily offerings, promotions, and hotel events.
  • Recommend additional food and beverage items when appropriate.
  • Promote premium coffee beverages, featured menu items, desserts, and other available products.
  • Recognize opportunities to personalize the guest experience.
  • Build positive relationships with repeat guests.
  • Support hotel and Food & Beverage revenue goals through knowledgeable and genuine service.
Collaborate Across Food & Beverage Operations
  • Work closely with Servers, Bartenders, Hosts, Bussers, Culinary associates, Banquets, and Food & Beverage leadership.
  • Communicate guest requests and service concerns clearly to appropriate team members.
  • Assist coworkers during high-volume periods to maintain efficient service.
  • Support restaurant, coffee outlet, banquet, pool, market, or other Food & Beverage areas based on operational needs.
  • Communicate shift information and unresolved guest requests to incoming associates and management.
  • Maintain positive and professional working relationships across hotel departments.
Support Safety, Food Safety & Hotel Standards
  • Follow all food-safety, sanitation, hygiene, and handwashing requirements.
  • Follow established procedures for handling and storing food and beverages.
  • Maintain appropriate food and beverage temperatures.
  • Follow allergy and dietary-request procedures and communicate guest needs appropriately.
  • Maintain safe working conditions throughout assigned areas.
  • Immediately report accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, or security concerns.
  • Follow hotel emergency procedures.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment when required.
  • Complete required food-safety, alcohol-awareness, safety, and compliance training.
  • Perform duties according to hotel policies, brand standards, and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Physical and Work Requirements
