WBS Coordinator
Company: Hays Electrical Services
Location: Wichita Falls, Tx (Onsite)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
Hays Electrical Services is seeking a detail-oriented WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) Coordinator to support large-scale electrical construction projects by developing, maintaining, and managing structured project cost and work codes. This role plays a critical function in ensuring accurate cost tracking, schedule alignment, and reporting across multiple projects and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate has strong construction accounting, project controls, or project coordination experience within electrical or commercial construction environments and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and manage Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) aligned with project scope, schedule, and cost requirements
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, and Accounting to ensure accurate cost coding and job setup
  • Establish and maintain standardized cost codes for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and change orders
  • Monitor project costs against budgets and flag variances or discrepancies
  • Support project forecasting, earned value tracking, and financial reporting
  • Ensure WBS structures are consistently applied across ERP and project management systems
  • Assist with project setup, closeout, and historical cost analysis
  • Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for cost and project data
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to project controls and reporting

Required Qualifications:
  • Must be a Certified / Licensed Electrician (Journeyman or Master level preferred)
  • 4+ years of experience in construction, cost accounting, project coordination, or WBS management
  • Prior experience in electrical, commercial, or industrial construction strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction cost structures and job cost reporting
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (Viewpoint, Procore, CMiC, Spectrum, or similar preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reporting)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both field and corporate teams

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting large-scale commercial or industrial electrical projects
  • Familiarity with change management, forecasting, and earned value concepts
  • Background working closely with estimating and preconstruction teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required)
