Bread Baker and Morning Baker  - Full Time position

Summary of our Verzenay's business: We make handcrafted French baked goods, pastries, with no artificial ingredients! Everything we make is in house and our business is retail direct to customers only. We do not focus on Wholesale.

Full time. Experience in some level of artisanal bread making is highly preferred - at least 2 years plus is,

This role provides a well rounded exposure to what Verzenay does: an intense full line bakery and patisserie. So the role combines primarily couple of days bread baking, couple of days morning bake off - early morning required), and 1+ day in other areas such as pastry and viennoiserie - laminated baked goods and pastries.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Most importantly, have a desire to make great looking and great tasting french artisanal breads and pastries and Viennoiseries.
  • Will be involved shaping and making artisan breads and morning bake off couple of days in the week.
  • Utilize the seasonal fruits and ingredients to showcase seasonal products.
  • Bring the best of the global, ethnic flavors as needed - overall be creative or at least work alongside the main pastry chef and owner to roll out already established concepts and new products successfully.
  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the bakery’s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards.
  • Should have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Take delivery of supplies and store in designated areas as soon as receiving the products.
  • Should be able to lift objects weighing about 50lbs, lift, bend and stand for long hours during shifts.
  • Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread, pastries, desserts etc. following traditional and modern recipes.
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
  • Fill-in for fellow employees where needed; Work as a team and train other employees as needed
