This position is temporary part time.
The Pastry Assistant/Baker is responsible for the daily production and finishing of breads, breakfast breads, pastries and other baked goods, as well as managing baked goods inventory, utilization and rotation. They should have a practical understanding of classical bread production including laminated doughs. They should be able to scale ingredients, use proper mixing and baking techniques. This position is responsible for early morning opening duties, and must be reliable and trustworthy. They will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members. They must possess a dedication to understanding and following protocol and know when and how to use creativity effectively to ensure that customers have an exceptional experience.
  • Is responsible for the production and finishing of all breakfast items, including but not limited to: Danish, croissants, muffins, coffee cake, doughnuts, and bagels.
  • Be skilled in the making laminated doughs, shaping croissant and Danish
  • Must be proficient in scaling of ingredients, and following recipes.
  • Be able to track and maintain par levels
  • Ensure proper labeling, dating, and rotation of product.
  • Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area, clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment, along with the ability to keep up with peak production and service, calmly, accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Be a team player. Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers, supervisors and other departments, and maintain a good positive working relationship with all employees.
