Job description

Quanex is looking for a Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift 10:30pm-7am to join our team located in Cannon Falls, MN.
The Maintenance Technician will perform mechanical and electrical repairs on all equipment in the plant and preventive maintenance when scheduled.

What Success Looks Like:
  • Diagnose and repair machinery and equipment operating problems and breakdowns as promptly as possible to minimize production downtime.
  • Install machinery, fixtures and necessary plumbing, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical and related hook-ups for the machinery.
  • Disassemble, Diagnose, repair and rebuild various company equipment and machines.
  • Order or fabricate required parts for service or repair of equipment and machines, utilizing welding, machining, electrical and mechanical processes.
  • Perform preventative maintenance duties on machinery and equipment as assigned.
  • Work with engineering & tool makers to design and fabrication of new equipment and machines.
  • Fabricate and repair machine guards, and related attachments to facilitate or increase safety.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the safety requirements of handling chemicals and/or hazardous waste.
  • Perform maintenance duties involving carpentry, plumbing, painting, welding, brazing, cutting and hydraulics in repairing or improving plant facilities, machinery or equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Your Credentials:
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Excellent problem solver with exceptional organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems with little or no supervision.
  • Requires minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.

Competitive Hourly Wage - $26-$36/hr. based on experience in a similar environment
