Job description

About the role:
Join Enova's Legal Team as an Assistant General Counsel, Transactional Law/Contracts, a high-impact role where you will serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner across our global operations in the US, Brazil, and Mexico. You'll get broad exposure to, and an opportunity to take ownership of, a high-volume, tech-forward practice. You will build expertise in financial services, collaborate directly with executive stakeholders, and help shape the legal framework that enables Enova's business velocity. We are looking for a nimble, business-savvy attorney who thrives on solving complex problems and is eager to champion innovation within the legal function. This role reports to the Senior Associate General Counsel.
Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Contract Leadership: Review, draft, and negotiate a sophisticated range of commercial, financial services, and technology related contracts-including strategic partnerships, intercompany services, vendors and licensing, professional services, and NDAs-that drive our global business objectives.
  • Business-Ready Advice: Advise and educate business partners on negotiating, and structuring terms and resolving contractual disputes to manage risk proactively while
    enabling commercial speed.
  • Risk Calibration: Serve as a subject matter expert on legal issues affecting business transactions, including intellectual property, privacy, data security, limitations of liability, indemnification obligations, and specialized financial services regulations.
  • Legal Innovation & AI: Own and modernize our contract lifecycle management (CLM) program, actively championing the integration of AI tools and automated workflows to boost productivity and effectiveness.
  • Partner with our vendor management and Third-Party Risk team to guide business partners through diligence and contracting, and support post-signing management of vendor and partner relationships.
  • Get exposure to and assist in other transactional matters, including strategic partnerships, M&A, capital markets, and employment law matters, as needed.
  • Work closely with Contracts Paralegal to provide assistance on administrative matters related to contract review including attention to the maintenance of the vendor contract queue and other various administrative issues.
  • Liaise with regulatory counsel and compliance to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage outside counsel on various corporate and transactional matters as necessary to accomplish legal and compliance objectives.

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school with active bar membership in good standing.
  • 5+ years of relevant transactional experience at a well-regarded law firm and/or in-house legal department.
  • Skilled in contract and legal analysis, organization, attention to detail, and translating legal risk into practical, business-ready recommendations.
  • Experience in financial services, banking or other related regulated industries is preferred.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and who thrives managing high-volume, time-sensitive work and can confidently set expectations with stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Adaptability and willingness to quickly develop new areas of expertise.
  • In-house experience working directly with business partners is a plus, but not required.
  • AI Fluency: Demonstrated enthusiasm for and comfort with leveraging AI-powered tools (e.g., automated research, document analysis) to enhance legal work product and operational efficiency.

Compensation:
The budgeted annual salary range for this position is $122,000 to $165,000. Actual annual salary will be determined based on qualifications, skills, experience, and level assessed during the hiring process and may fall outside of the range shown. Additional compensation for this role may include a bonus and restricted stock units. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in Company benefits, described in more detail here.
