Position Overview:

The Vice President, General Manager - North Port serves as the senior operational leader for the Atlanta Braves' North Port Spring Training and year-round facility operations. This role is responsible for the strategic direction, financial performance, guest experience, facility management, community engagement, and overall success of CoolToday Park and associated year-round operations.

The Vice President provides strategic leadership across all operational departments, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives while driving operational excellence and the Atlanta Braves' standards of service, safety, and professionalism. This position serves as the primary liaison with local government partners, community stakeholders, Major League Baseball, and Braves leadership while overseeing long-term planning, capital improvements, and business initiatives that support the continued growth and sustainability of the facility.

Major responsibilities:

  • Provide executive leadership for all business, operational, and administrative functions of the North Port Spring Training complex and year-round operations.
  • Establish and execute the strategic vision for North Port operations in alignment with the Atlanta Braves' organizational priorities.
  • Oversee the financial performance of the facility, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue growth, and expense management.
  • Lead and develop department leaders responsible for:
    • Facility Operations
    • Stadium Operations
    • Field Maintenance
    • Corporate Partnerships
    • Season, Group, and Premium Ticket Sales
    • Food & Beverage Operations
    • Retail and Merchandise Operations
    • Braves Academy Operations
    • Event Operations
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and evaluate department leaders while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Partner closely with Baseball Operations to support Spring Training, player development activities, rehabilitation assignments, instructional programs, and other baseball operations.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and utilization of fields, stadiums, and facility assets to support Baseball operations, community events, and third-party programming.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the City of North Port, Sarasota County, Wellen Park, local government officials, community organizations, business leaders, and key stakeholders.
  • Serve as the organization's executive representative within the North Port community.
  • Lead capital improvement initiatives and long-range planning efforts that enhance the facility and support organizational objectives.
  • Foster a culture focused on accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, safety, and exceptional guest service.
  • Ensure compliance with all Major League Baseball standards, organizational policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with Braves executive leadership and cross-functional departments to achieve organizational goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive executive leadership experience managing professional sports facilities, baseball operations, stadium operations, or comparable entertainment venues.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large, cross-functional teams within a complex operational environment.
