Job description

I. Summary of the position:
The Facilities Support team member plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, functionality, and overall appearance of BRAVE Church facilities. This position supports daily operations by performing routine maintenance tasks, assisting with repairs, and ensuring that all areas of the building are well-stocked and organized. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to creating a welcoming and efficient environment for BRAVE Church.
Working under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Support staff collaborates with internal departments and external vendors to address facility needs promptly and professionally. This role requires a strong work ethic, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a willingness to take initiative in solving problems related to building operations.
II. Experience and Knowledge Required:
โ€ข 1-3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or a related support role. Experience working in environments such as corporate offices, schools, hospitals, or industrial facilities is a plus.
โ€ข Basic understanding of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting.
โ€ข Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
โ€ข Knowledge of safety protocols, OSHA standards, and emergency procedures.
โ€ข Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
โ€ข Clear verbal and written communication for reporting issues and documenting tasks.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues and propose practical solutions.

o Perform routine inspections and basic repairs of building systems (e.g., lighting, plumbing, HVAC).
o Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
โ€ข Facility Cleanliness & Organization
o Ensure common areas, restrooms, and workspaces are clean, stocked, and presentable.
o Assist with waste disposal, recycling, and inventory of cleaning supplies.
โ€ข Room Setup & Event Support
o Set up and break down furniture and equipment for meetings, events, and special functions.
o Coordinate with staff to ensure spaces are prepared and restored as needed.
โ€ข Inventory & Supplies Management
o Track and replenish facility-related supplies (e.g., paper products, tools, light bulbs).
o Receive deliveries and organize storage areas.
โ€ข Vendor Coordination
o Assist with scheduling and overseeing external contractors and service providers.
o Provide access and support during on-site work or inspections.

o Document maintenance activities and update logs or work order systems.
o Assist with facility-related reporting and recordkeeping.
