Job description

Braun Intertec is seeking ICC certified Special Inspectors to join our San Antonio, Texas office. In this role, you will perform special inspections of soils, concrete, masonry, structural steel, and bolting, as well as conduct materials testing across a diverse range of industrial, commercial, and transportation construction projects throughout the region.
This position offers advanced technical training and opportunities to obtain additional industry certifications. Sign on bonus up to $5,000.00
Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine & complex sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, and asphalt
  • Perform field concrete testing, including slump, air content, and temperature
  • Perform field density tests of soils
  • Prepare daily reports and documentation of field activities in electronic format
  • Work with project managers and senior technicians or staff to ensure specifications are followed
  • Assist with training & mentoring of junior staff, as needed

Qualifications:
  • ICC Reinforced Concrete or Soils SI Certification required
  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Certification Required
  • State DOT certifications, and/or NICET certifications
  • A High School diploma or equivalent
  • A valid driver's license
  • A strong safety focus and attention to detail
  • Excellent plan reading skills
  • A demonstrated math and technical aptitude
  • Flexibility to work extended or non-traditional hours as needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to lift 75+ pounds
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • At times, this position may be working at or on uneven terrain, varying heights, in confined spaces, or supported trenches

Compensation Range:
$55,000.00 - $82,000.00
