Job description

Responsible for overseeing end to end lifecycle and helping guide projects from initial planning through final execution. This role focuses on leading project definition, job tracking, material coordination, and cross discipline execution. The Project Manager serves as a coordination and execution support role ensuring activities are clearly defined, materials are identified and procured to meet shipment schedules.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the complete project lifecycle, including scheduling, material procurement, fabrication tracking, assembly as well as coordinate shipments as per customer requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to ensure schedules are maintained.
  • Support material readiness to prevent delays during assembly.
  • Act as an execution support resource to Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Operations by helping convert ideas and needs into defined scopes, materials, and work plans.
  • Manage overall schedule to reduce execution friction.
  • Develops task-level readiness schedules, tracks scopes, material, and department readiness milestones, and identifies risks to the schedule and escalates early.
  • Assist with change identification driven by project evolution or discovery.
  • Help ensure change requests are tied back to original scope definitions and BOMs.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and ensure that the outstanding questions are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Oversee that all established procedures and policies are followed in regard to safety and protection of company assets.
  • Promotes and protects the good name of Chief Industries within the community and surrounding area.
  • Maintains good communication with all departments within the brand in order to have a thorough knowledge of works in process.
  • Attends all project meetings and assists with execution of project requirements.
  • Maintains confidentiality of proposed projects and costs.
  • Ensure that all Change Requests have an approved Change Order prior to proceeding. Adjusts projections, project schedules, and other change order requirements in a timely manner.
  • Monitors cost issues daily and adjusts projections as required to ensure projected costs are true and an accurate account of final project costs in relationship to original estimate.
  • Assists in the determination of contingency in the event that machines and operations are interrupted.
  • Maintains a good relationship with all stakeholders on the project.
  • Communicates ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude.

Education:
  • High School Diploma, preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering ore related technical field.
