Job description

The press brake operator ensures that the machine is set up properly, functioning well, and producing quality product.  He or she runs the machine and adjusts it to control speed, material feed and path of the cut.  The ideal candidate embraces change, is a problem solver, an innovative thinker, and is experienced in prioritizing production runs to ensure that parts are available to meet production demands.  Work hours are Monday – Friday 3:30 PM t0 12:00 AM.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Produce parts for assembly operations.
  • Safely perform loading and unloading of sheet metal.  Change tools and select required machine programs. 
  • Work safely utilizing proper protective equipment and following all safety procedures. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. 
  • Follow all inventory control procedures.
  • Learn other appropriate job functions and serve as back up when necessary.
  • Assist with machine preventive maintenance using proper lock out/tag out procedures. 
  • Meet or exceed productivity per company standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
 Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years’ experience on a press brake or similar machine in a manufacturing environment. Experience with Amada is a plus. 
  • Experience in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement manufacturing environment. 
  • Ability to accurately use and read tape measure.
  • Ability to read drawings and blueprints. 
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must pass background check as well as pre-employment physical and drug screen.

        Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive work. 
  • Standing, bending, stooping.
  • Several large, loud machines operating at once.
  • Non-air-conditioned shop, temperature conditions like the outdoors, proper ventilation exists.
