What is a Brain Balance?

A Brain Balance job typically involves working with children and young adults to help improve cognitive, behavioral, and social skills through a non-medical, drug-free program. Employees may work as coaches, program assistants, or specialists, guiding participants through physical exercises, academic activities, and sensory training. The goal is to strengthen brain connectivity and improve focus, behavior, and learning ability. Collaboration with other professionals such as cognitive development specialists and program directors is common. These skills ensure effective program delivery, support for students with diverse learning needs, and positive outcomes for clients and families.

Job description

Why Join Us

Carondelet Medical Group is building something rare: a subspecialty neurology practice where fellowship-trained expertise meets a fully integrated neuroscience ecosystem. As a Movement Disorder Neurologist, you'll step into a collaborative environment alongside stroke, epilepsy, and functional neurology specialists - plus a co-located spine, brain, and vascular neurosurgery team - with a built-in referral network from day one. This is an outpatient-only role designed for a clinician who wants to go deep in their subspecialty without the burden of hospital call. If you're looking for autonomy, peer support, and a practice infrastructure that actually lets you practice medicine, this is it.

Position Highlights
  • Outpatient-only practice - no hospital call, no inpatient rounding
  • Monday-Friday clinic schedule with genuine work-life balance
  • 15-20 patients per day - sustainable volume in a focused subspecialty setting
  • Collaborative neuroscience team including stroke, epilepsy, and functional neurology physicians
  • 3 advanced practice providers (APPs) integrated into the practice
  • Co-located inpatient and outpatient spine, brain, and vascular neurosurgery team
  • Established referral infrastructure to support subspecialty growth
  • Physician-led organization - your clinical voice carries weight
  • In-house marketing and business development support to help grow your patient base
  • Full administrative support for billing, credentialing, and HR
What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation package
  • CME allowance and paid time off
  • Malpractice insurance provided
  • Health, dental, and life insurance
  • 401(k) with employer matching
  • Deferred compensation program
  • Relocation assistance
Candidate Requirements
  • MD or DO
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
  • Fellowship training in Movement Disorders (completed or in progress)
  • Arizona medical license or eligibility for licensure in Arizona
Why Tucson

Tucson punches well above its weight - a UNESCO-designated City of Gastronomy with a culinary and arts scene that surprises first-time visitors, all set against one of the most dramatic desert landscapes in the country. With 350-plus days of sunshine, you're never far from world-class hiking, cycling, and golf, while the University of Arizona anchors a culture of research, education, and spirited college-town energy. Housing costs remain well below most major metros, and the city's family-friendly neighborhoods consistently draw physicians looking for quality of life without compromise. Tucson International Airport keeps you connected - but most who land here find fewer reasons to leave.

Established in 1961, St. Josephs Hospital in Tucson is home to the Carondelet Neurological Institute and the Carondelet Joint Replacement Center. The hospital offers advanced care that includes a Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center and spacious and comfortable labor and delivery units. Additional services include high-quality care in programs such as cardiology, orthopedics, stroke and emergency medicine. Join our team!
