What You Will Do:

The Senior Business Process Analyst Lead serves as the functional lead for business process discovery, analysis, process improvement, and target-state design activities across multiple Agile workstreams. This individual will oversee process mapping efforts, mentor junior and mid-level analysts, facilitate executive and stakeholder workshops, and ensure the consistent application of Business Process Improvement (BPI) methodologies, standards, and deliverables.

The role will work closely with Project Managers, Enterprise Architects, Data Engineers, Change Management Specialists, and client stakeholders to analyze current-state operations, identify improvement opportunities, develop future-state operating models, and support modernization planning initiatives.

Process Discovery and Analysis

  • Lead complex business process discovery interviews, workshops, and stakeholder working sessions.

  • Oversee development of detailed As-Is process maps, workflows, journey maps, and dependency analyses.

  • Validate process documentation for completeness, accuracy, and consistency.

  • Analyze business operations to identify redundancies, bottlenecks, operational risks, and improvement opportunities.

  • Synthesize findings across multiple workstreams to identify enterprise-wide patterns and trends.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build trusted relationships with business and technical stakeholders.

  • Facilitate executive briefings and leadership working sessions.

  • Present findings, recommendations, risks, and implementation considerations.

  • Support stakeholder alignment across diverse organizations and business functions.

Future-State Design

  • Facilitate collaborative design sessions for development of To-Be processes and target operating models.

  • Translate business needs into implementation-ready requirements and capability recommendations.

  • Develop transition strategies, sequencing approaches, and modernization recommendations.

  • Evaluate impacts to people, process, technology, governance, and organizational structures.

Strategic Modernization Support

  • Support enterprise architecture, data modernization, cloud migration, and operating model transformation initiatives.

  • Collaborate with architects and technical teams to identify business capability requirements.

  • Assess organizational readiness, change impacts, and modernization risks.

  • Contribute to strategic roadmaps and investment planning activities.


What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, Operations Management, Public Policy, or related field.

  • Seven (7) years of experience conducting business process analysis, process improvement, business transformation, or modernization initiatives.

  • Minimum 5 years leading teams or managing large-scale process improvement engagements.

  • Demonstrated experience leading development of current-state (As-Is) and future-state (To-Be) process models.

  • Experience facilitating executive interviews, stakeholder workshops, and cross-functional working sessions.

  • Proficiency in business process modeling techniques including BPMN, swim-lane diagrams, journey mapping, UML, IDEF, or similar methodologies.

  • Strong experience documenting business requirements, functional requirements, and operational procedures.

  • Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams and deliverables.

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with executive audiences.

  • Experience supporting Agile, hybrid, or iterative delivery environments.

  • Must be US citizen.

  • Must be able to obtain Public Trust Clearance.

  • Must be able to work from the client office in Washington, DC and Guidehouse office in Tysons Corner, VA.


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Experience leading Business Process Improvement (BPI), Business Process Reengineering (BPR), Lean, Six Sigma, or operational transformation initiatives.

  • Professional certification such as:

    • CBPP (Certified Business Process Professional)

    • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt

    • PMI-PBA

    • Prosci Change Management

    • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)

  • Experience supporting federal agencies, financial regulators, central banks, or financial services organizations.

  • Experience supporting enterprise modernization, cloud migration, data transformation, or technology-enabled process improvement programs.

  • Familiarity with data pipelines, analytics environments, forecasting, modeling, or research-based organizations.

  • Experience operating within complex, decentralized, or federated governance environments.

  • Experience developing executive-level recommendations, modernization roadmaps, and operating model assessments.

The annual salary range for this position is $113,000.00-$188,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
