Job description

A Day In The Life

Operator will be required to set-up, operate, and to adjust machines and equipment in order to produce a good quality product. Examples of machines and equipment are, but not limited to, punch press, straightener, feed machine, press brake, furnace, crane, forklift, conveyor, cutting torch, blade folding, riveting, conveying, boxing, banding, strapping, leading, painting, and other departmental equipment.

Processes performed will be, but not limited to, inspecting, gauging, counting, heating, blanking, perforating, shearing, forming, sorting, assembling, painting, boxing, palletizing, bundling, banding, nutting, sorting, boxing, twisting, deburring, and stacking.

Operator must have the ability to read and interpret drawings, routing sheets and have the ability to satisfactorily use calipers, gages, measuring devises, visual inspections, record production, record scrap, etc. and perform SPC as required.

Operator may be required to make visual inspections, separate parts, record production, record scrap, keep required production records, and other operations as required.

Operator will be required to furnish own hand tools.

Operator will be required to maintain machines, equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner.

Ability to sit and/or stand and perform repetitive work for a minimum of eight hours.

Ability to walk, hear, see and have full use of both hands.

Ability to lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist and waist to floor.

Ability to handle 65 lbs. continuously for the duration of the shift.

Ability to work on a platform.

Ability to load 80 lbs. onto a die cart and then transport it.

Ability to push and/or pull 415 lbs. a distance of 2 feet.

Ability to lift and carry 100lb. cartons a distance of 3 feet and place on a pallet.
