Description:  Spell Bowl Coach
Job Summary:  The Spell Bowl Coach will work with building leadership in the recruitment of both students and adult mentors, handle the day-to-day operations and leading the team including, providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, supporting, programming, collaborating, planning, entering, and participating in spell bowl competitions.
Qualifications:
1. Create a positive, achievement-oriented, and structured learning environment that excites and invest in students
2. Motivate students to reach high academic and behavior standards.
3. Collaborate with mentors to build, lead, maintain, and keep culture team morale and culture high
4. Maintain knowledge of the rules for spell bowl competitions and assist in the monitoring of websites and forums for updated news throughout the season
5. Conduct practices and competitions with a high level of sportsmanship and ethics
6. Provide consistent communication about schedules, travel logistics, etc. and positively communicate and interact with parents, students, officials, and others
7. Must be a self-starter with the ability to direct and build the program into a competitive team
8. Have the ability to work with students in a way that boost confidence, inspires their technical learning, builds both problem-solving and collaborative skills, and puts students into the position of better understanding
9. All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
