Job description

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
As a physiatrist, you will round at 1-3 Skilled Nursing Facilities or similar rehabilitation centers, 1-3 days per week at each location. Your primary focus will be delivering specialized physiatry care to 25+ patients per day who are experiencing difficulty participating in therapy due to pain or functional limitations.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Performing focused assessments and developing individualized treatment plans in collaboration with facility primary care teams to optimize therapy participation and functional recovery.
  • Providing targeted interventions such as joint injections, Botox treatments, dry needling, and medication management based on patient-specific needs.
  • Serving as the sole physiatrist on-site, operating with a high level of autonomy while supported by a collaborative clinical team for consultation as needed.
  • Coordinating care and referring to other specialties or services for issues beyond the scope of physiatry.
This role is best suited for a self-motivated and confident clinician who thrives in independent practice environments and is passionate about improving rehabilitation outcomes.
Qualifications:
  • Current, unrestricted PA or NP license.
  • DEA licensed or willing to obtain DEA licensure.
  • Nursing home and/or physiatry experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Comfort and interest in performing peripheral joint injections (knees, shoulders, hips).
  • A genuine passion for providing professional, personalized care in an autonomous environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with EHR charting
