About the Role: 
The Booth Clerk is responsible for efficiently and accurately processing financial service transactions and products available at the customer service booth while providing fast, friendly service. This role ensures all cash handling, compliance, and customer interactions are conducted according to Vallarta’s standards for accuracy, safety, and customer care.

What You’ll Do: 
  • Smile and greet customers and team members while delivering extraordinary service.
  • Model Vallarta’s Core Values: customer service, commitment, integrity, respect, humility, and teamwork.
  • Follow proper cash and payment handling procedures, ensuring accuracy and accountability of all transactions.
  • Verify and balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Process payroll and government checks in compliance with Vallarta policy and state/federal guidelines.
  • Prepare and process Money Gram transactions.
  • Sell lottery tickets, money orders, postage stamps, phone cards, and Vallarta merchandise.
  • Issue loans/change to management for cashiers; receive cash pickups per company policy.
  • Answer incoming calls with courtesy and professionalism.
  • Verify and balance cashier tills, prepare reports, and sort coupons.
  • Assist customers with requests and call for management when needed.
  • Maintain the booth area clean, organized, and clutter-free.
  • Ensure safety, security, and compliance with all company policies and handbook rules.
  • Treat customers and coworkers respectfully at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements: 
  • Stand and walk constantly (6–8+ hours/day).
  • Frequent bending (neck/waist), twisting, and reaching above/below shoulders.
  • Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, and pushing/pulling.
  • Lift and carry up to 10 lbs. frequently, and up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
  • Heaviest item required to carry: 5 lbs., up to 4 feet.
  • No driving, equipment/machinery use, uneven ground, noise, or exposure to fumes/dust required.

What We’re Looking For: 
  • Friendly, courteous personality with strong customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of booth services, cash handling, and supermarket operations.
  • 10-key calculator experience and ability to perform math calculations.
  • Ability to learn and use basic computer programs (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Fast-paced customer service booth setting with direct customer interaction.
  • Requires strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and service.

  • Must work flexible schedule: afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
