ABOUT ROCKET LAB

Our Electron rocket has become the second most frequently launched U.S. rocket annually and has delivered more than 230 satellites to orbit, all while we work to develop Neutron, our upcoming medium-lift, reusable launch vehicle for larger constellation deployment. Our Space Systems business designs and builds our extensive line of satellites, payloads, and their components, including spacecraft that have been selected to support NASA missions to the Moon and Mars and components used on the James Webb Space Telescope.

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS

Rocket Lab's Marketing & Communications team are the storytellers behind Rocket Lab who inspire people outside and inside the business to believe in our mission. Through media relations, social media, video production, events, and design, the Marketing & Communications team works across the entire business to translate literal rocket science and complex ideas into stories and messages that resonate with key audiences.

EVENTS & MERCHANDISE COORDINATOR - (6 month contract)

Based onsite at Rocket Lab's global headquarters in Long Beach, CA the Events and Merchandise Coordinator will lead the planning and execution of events including tradeshows, launch viewing parties, VIP tours, team events, and more. This role will lead event logistics and construction management (tradeshow booths), booking travel, project management, and vendor management. In addition, this role will be responsible for coordinating our highly sought after merchandise that features heavily in these events. This role requires travel up to 25% of the time to support events across U.S. locations.

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:

  • Identify and manage vendors including tradespeople, exhibit builders, A/V teams, lighting designers, caterers, conference venues, merchandise suppliers, hotels, and other specialists to ensure flawless booth construction and activation.
  • Own and maintain all event documents including production schedules, layouts, booth designs, and post-event debriefs.
  • Order and manage swag/merchandise, brochures and brand collateral, ensuring all event assets reflect brand standards and storytelling objectives.
  • Partner with internal teams (business development, government operations, talent acquisition, and marketing) to ensure events meet strategic objectives.
  • Serve as on-site lead for event execution, managing real-time logistics, vendor coordination, build adjustments and troubleshooting under pressure.
  • Plan and execute internal events, launch viewing celebrations at HQ and our launch sites, and support VIP facility tours.
  • Coordinate with merchandise suppliers to ensure web store is always stocked and place customer orders for mission-specific merchandise.

YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma and 4+ years of event experience with a track record of effectively managing events end-to- end.
  • Experience planning high-touch, bespoke events, and large-scale trade shows.
  • Experience providing a disciplined approach to event management from strategic planning and flawless execution to post-event reporting.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.   
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.  
  • Must be physically able to commute to buildings. 
  • Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise. 

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one component of our total rewards package at Rocket Lab.
