Job description

Position Objective
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic performs skilled mechanical and maintenance work on heavy trucks and equipment, including vacuum trucks, tractors, and trailers. This role combines technical expertise with hands-on shop support to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
Job Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair heavy trucks and equipment, including performing scheduled preventative maintenance
  • Complete annual inspections on trucks and trailers
  • Conduct inspections and run-ups for new and sale trucks
  • Operate and maintain shop equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and assist with general shop needs
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience with diesel, electrical, and hydraulic systems required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
  • Strong hydraulic and electrical diagnostic skill
  • Mig and tig welding experience
  • Engine diagnostics experience
  • Must have a complete set of hand tools
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds infrequently
  • Ability to stand, stoop, crouch, bend, and climb short ladders repeatedly
  • Experience operating and maintaining machinery and equipment
