Position Summary Information
Position Summary
The NC Boost Program Navigator (Grant Funded) will provide proactive academic advising and coaching to NC Boost students, using data to monitor progress and support at-risk individuals. Engage students through regular outreach and individualized success plans, collaborate with faculty and staff to coordinate resources and interventions, and support program recruitment, onboarding, and student engagement while maintaining accurate records.ย 
Responsibilities
Essential Functions

  • Deliver proactive, holistic academic advising and intrusive coaching for assigned Boost students.ย 
  • Review and monitor student academic performance using institutional data systems, identify and support at-risk students.ย 
  • Conduct regular outreach via meetings, phone calls, and email to promote engagement, accountability, and goal attainment using individualized student success plans to address academic progress, personal development, and career goals of NC Boost Studentsย  ย 
  • Collaborate with faculty, advisors, and staff to coordinate interventions and connect Boost students with college and community resources. ย 
  • Assist with student recruitment, onboarding, and orientation for the Boost program ย 
  • Co-develop and co-facilitate, in cooperation with the Western Consortium Boost Director, student workshops, success seminars, and community-building events for NC Boost ย 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all Boost student interactions, advising notes, and progress reports.ย 

Responsibilities
  • Participate in team meetings, assessment activities, and professional development opportunities associated with NC Boost ย 
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with the Western Consortium NC Boost Directorย 
  • Contribute to program data collection, reporting, and evaluation of outcomes associated with NC Boostย 
  • Assist the Western Collaborative Boost Director in the creation and distribution of detailed reports on enrolled student data to support data-driven decisions for Boost. ย 
  • Assist the Western Collaborative Boost Director in the generation and analysis of CRM reports to assess applicant pools. ย 
  • Uphold the mission of the North Carolina Community College System, the NC Boost program, and partner colleges. ย 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned. ย

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills to build rapport with adult learners.ย 
  • Ability to manage caseload, analyze data, and use institutional systems for monitoring and reporting.ย 
  • Knowledge of academic advising practices, adult learning principles, student success strategies, and workforce pathways.ย 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, act with integrity, and provide proactive interventions.ย 
  • Strong attention to detail for documentation, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.ย 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Education, Counseling, social sciences, or related field.ย 
  • Minimum of three years of experience in academic advising, student services, or related higher education roles ย

Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred: Master's degree in counseling, Higher Education, social sciences, or related discipline. ย 
  • Preferred: Two years of direct academic advising or success coaching experience.ย
