Position Description: Clark Builders is hiring an Equipment Operator to work near Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. This role will be responsible for the safe operation of the Zoom Boom and Skid Steer on a commercial construction site.

Reporting to: Foreman or Superintendent

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate equipment such as skid steers, zoom booms and other equipment as required

  • Load and unload construction materials and move material to work areas

  • Complete daily inspections of equipment and communicate any concerns with the Superintendent

  • Backfill, Grading and other duties as required

  • Circle and inspect equipment. Complete inspection log and check area for hazards

  • Maintain a clean and safe vehicle

  • Perform additional job assignments as directed by Superintendent

  • Represent Clark Builders in a professional and respectful manner

  • Adhere to Clark Builders policies and procedures

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of tasks in an effective, organized manner, ability to multitask

  • Strong communication, analytical skills, and attention to detail

  • Basic mechanical knowledge or skill for minor preventative maintenance and pre-shift inspections

  • Demonstrate a high level of safety awareness and a clear understanding of equipment safety

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Experience utilizing buckets, forks and other attachments

  • Fully trained and competent in the operation of Zoom Boom and Skid Steer

Qualifications:

  • Be in good physical condition, able to lift up to 50 lbs, sit and stand for extended periods of time, kneel, climb ladders, and walk on rough terrain

  • Valid certification for Zoom Boom and Skid Steer

  • Valid First Aid certificate an asset

  • Valid ESC Fall Protection, CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015 is an asset.
