Job description

The Bookstore Associate Lead position exists to provide support including handling cash/receipts, coordination of financial and Bookstore reports, receiving and inventory, communication via signage, internal and external channels, and social media, as well as customer service duties. This position also can lead the team confidently if there is no management on site.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Sets cash drawers for the day
  • Prepares daily cash balance, reconciliations, and bank deposits
  • Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly reports for Bookstore, Finance, and other departments
  • Manages the cash base in the bookstore
  • Opens and closes the bookstore on a schedule determined by Bookstore management, including counting the cash drawers
  • Accesses and works in a secured area with the bookstore safe
  • Creates and monitors Bookstore communication to include social media, Facebook, newsletter, etc.
  • Creates signage used in the bookstore
  • Coordinates internal communication, ImIn, Did You Know, etc.
  • Is responsible for receiving vendor orders and maintaining backstock
  • Is responsible for yearly cycle counts of the inventory
  • Represents the ministry of Focus on the Family to visiting constituency and local customers
  • Processes sales transactions accurately and efficiently using point of sale software system
  • Has a comprehensive knowledge of the methods, procedures, and policies within the organization
  • Answers a variety of correspondence with oversight
  • Receives, distributes, and screens incoming mail for appropriate distribution; categorizes/prioritizes and prepares responses
  • Is responsible for processing all customer shipping orders
  • Is responsible for taking care of customers with defective product via mail
  • Orders and inventories office supplies; maintains machine supplies and assists with retail supplies
  • Facilitates onboarding for new employees on policies and procedures specific to the bookstore

 

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Function as back up to management when not available
  • Assist in identify inventory needs and communicate needs to management
  • Bible imprinting
  • Maintain Broadcast Resources and display
  • Attends regular staff meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a Post Offer Pre-hire Physical exam
  • Occasional holiday and weekend work is required
  • Retail bookstore—10,000 sq. feet
  • Ability to stand or walk throughout entire work shift, stooping, kneeling
  • Repetitive motion—keying sales transactions
  • Ladder work with required training
  • Some Holiday work required
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Stewardship Requirements:

  • Responsible for a cash base of $2,500

Pay Range: $19.30 to $22.76
