Bookkeeper
The bookkeeper will maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, manage day-to-day accounting transactions, and support the organization's overall financial health. You will record transactions, reconcile accounts, and help ensure the integrity of financial data across the business.
To do well in this job, you should be comfortable working with numbers, have a strong grasp of basic accounting principles, and take pride in accuracy and organization. Top candidates will be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple accounts and deadlines with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
  • Recording day-to-day financial transactions and completing the posting process
  • Reconciling bank and credit card statements against the general ledger
  • Processing accounts payable, including verifying and entering vendor invoices and scheduling payments
  • Processing accounts receivable, including preparing and issuing customer invoices and tracking payments received
  • Gathering daily checks and cash and preparing bank deposits
  • Maintaining and balancing subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions
  • Assisting with payroll processing and related record-keeping
  • Preparing trial balances and supporting month-end and year-end close processes
  • Producing basic financial reports (profit & loss, balance sheet) by collecting and organizing data
  • Identifying and correcting discrepancies and promptly notifying relevant parties
  • Maintaining organized digital and hard-copy records to optimize retrieval
  • Ensuring data is backed up and financial files are kept confidential and secure
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles (debits/credits, GL, accruals)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to concentrate for lengthy periods and perform accurately with adequate speed
  • Proficient touch-typing skills
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online required
  • Proficiency in Excel required

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
