Overview

The Part-Time Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping functions, organizing accounts payable, reconciling financial records, and assisting in the preparation of monthly profit and loss statements. The ideal candidate has extensive bookkeeping experience, strong attention to detail, and prior experience working within the restaurant, café, bakery, or hospitality industry.


This role is ideal for someone looking for flexible part-time work with a growing family-owned company.


Anticipated Schedule: Part-Time, approximately 20 hours per week. Flexible, remote work environment


Reports directly to the Finance Director


Responsibilities

  • Manage and organize accounts payable
  • Process invoices and vendor payments accurately and on time
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and financial records
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and general ledger entries
  • Assist with payroll-related bookkeeping entries
  • Prepare and organize monthly financial reports and P&Ls
  • Support budgeting and cash flow tracking
  • Work closely with the Finance Director to improve financial systems and reporting
  • Maintain digital filing systems and financial documentation
  • Ensure financial records are accurate, organized, and audit-ready



Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of bookkeeping experience required
  • Previous experience in restaurant, bakery, café, or hospitality accounting/bookkeeping strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Experience preparing monthly P&Ls
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
