Righter's Auto Repair is a family-owned, multi-location auto repair business serving mid-Michigan for over [X years]. We're growing and investing in our corporate office team to support our continued expansion. We run our business on solid financials and clear accountability.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced, full-charge bookkeeper to manage daily accounting operations across our three locations. You'll work directly with ownership and play a key role in maintaining accurate, timely financial records. This is a hands-on position with real responsibility in a stable, growing business.

What You'll Do

  • Manage daily bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online across multiple locations with proper class/location tracking
  • Process daily sales data from Tekmetric (our shop management system) into QBO via journal entries
  • Categorize and reconcile Capital One credit card and bank transactions
  • Handle accounts payable: vendor bills, payment scheduling, maintaining vendor relationships
  • Manage accounts receivable: customer accounts, fleet billing, aging follow-up
  • Process payroll journal entries from Paylocity into QuickBooks Online
  • Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for ownership
  • File monthly Michigan sales tax returns through MTO
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready records and documentation
  • Prepare annual 1099s and support year-end close with our CPA

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of full-charge bookkeeping experience, preferably multi-location or multi-entity
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (ProAdvisor certification a plus)
  • Experience with auto repair, automotive, or similar trade/service business preferred
  • Familiarity with Tekmetric or similar shop management software a plus
  • Experience with payroll platforms (Paylocity preferred)
  • Solid understanding of accrual accounting, multi-location reporting, and class tracking
  • Working knowledge of Michigan sales tax filing requirements
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong communication skills — comfortable explaining financial information to ownership
  • Trustworthy and discreet with confidential financial information
