Job description

We are looking for a dependable Bookkeeper to join an on-site team in Metairie, Louisiana. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone with a solid accounting foundation who can contribute quickly and manage day-to-day financial activities with limited ramp-up time. The role supports accounting operations across multiple business entities and requires strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.


Responsibilities:

• Process payment runs and help ensure vendor disbursements are completed accurately and on schedule.

• Prepare and record accounts receivable deposits using remote deposit capture tools.

• Contribute to month-end accounting activities by organizing records and supporting closing tasks.

• Create journal entries and maintain accurate financial documentation for routine transactions.

• Track amortization activity and assist with related accounting schedules and reporting.

• Monitor insurance-related payments to help keep policies current and properly documented.

• Handle bookkeeping responsibilities across multiple LLCs while maintaining clear separation of financial records.

• Perform general accounting support as needed to keep daily operations running efficiently.

• At least 2–3 years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Ability to work effectively in an on-site environment and begin contributing with minimal supervision.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general bookkeeping processes.
• Familiarity with bank-related transactions and financial record maintenance.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel for everyday accounting tasks.
• Experience supporting multiple entities or sets of financial records is preferred.
• Exposure to Yardi is a plus, but it is not required.
• No degree is required for this position.
