Back Office Processing Specialist – Tax Systems

& Bookkeeping Operations

FITS Consulting is seeking experienced Back Office Processing Specialists to support critical tax system operations. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with a strong background in Tax system operations, bookkeeping, transaction processing, and financial operations who thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the Broadridge BPS platform. Additionally, candidates with extensive bookkeeping experience within a Broadridge client environment, FIS, BETA, or other comparable financial services platforms are also encouraged to apply.

Success in this role requires more than strong technical expertise. The ideal candidate will have experience working across multiple lines of business and possess the ability to effectively partner with both internal stakeholders and external clients to research, resolve, and communicate complex operational issues. Strong collaboration, communication, and relationship management skills are essential.

In this role, you will investigate, analyze, and resolve transaction discrepancies by reviewing bookkeeping entries, reconciling financial records, and determining why transactions failed to flow into the Tax system. You'll leverage your analytical mindset and attention to detail to identify root causes, resolve processing exceptions, and help ensure the integrity of critical financial data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze complex bookkeeping entries to validate transaction accuracy and
  • completeness.
  • Compare internal bookkeeping records against entries to identify discrepancies and
  • processing gaps.
  • Investigate transactions that did not successfully feed into the Tax system and determine
  • root causes.
  • Perform detailed research across back-office processing systems to resolve data integrity
  • issues.
  • Interpret complex financial transactions and understand downstream impacts on tax
  • reporting systems.
  • Collaborate with technology, operations, and business teams to troubleshoot processing
  • issues.
  • Document findings, resolutions, and recurring issues to support process improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 years+ experience supporting tax reporting systems or brokerage tax operations.
  • Strong background in back-office processing, brokerage operations, or financial services bookkeeping.
  • Prior experience working with Broadridge BPS, FIS, BETA, or similar securities processing platforms preferred.
  • Deep understanding of bookkeeping concepts and transaction lifecycle processes.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial transactions and identify discrepancies.
  • Experience researching transaction exceptions and performing root-cause analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Expert-level Microsoft Office proficiency is required. Candidates must demonstrate advanced Excel expertise, including the ability to create and maintain complex spreadsheets, perform sophisticated data analysis, utilize advanced formulas, pivot tables, and reporting tools with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working with large-scale financial services platforms and operational workflows.
