Full Charge Bookkeeper/Accountant – Plum Market Food Service – Eppley Airfield
Full-Time | Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Full Charge Bookkeeper / Accountant to support the financial operations of our multi-unit food and beverage business at Omaha Eppley Airfield. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions across approximately 10 operating locations while serving as a key liaison between airport operations and the Plum Market Support Office.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of the accounting cycle, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a collaborative professional who can work closely with General Managers, vendors, airport personnel, and corporate accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information. The successful candidate will be relied upon as a knowledgeable accounting resource and must demonstrate sound judgment, initiative, and strong problem-solving abilities.

What you will do:

  • Manage accounting activities for approximately 10 food and beverage operating locations.
  • Maintain assigned general ledger accounts and ensure transactions are accurately recorded and supported.
  • Review and reconcile sales, cash, and settlement activity for all locations, maintaining cash controls, conducting safe audits, and resolving discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Reconcile supply and inventory transfers between locations and research variances as needed.
  • Manage accounts payable functions, including invoice review, coding verification, entry, and payment scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate vendor records and assist with vendor communications and issue resolution.
  • Track and manage accounts receivable, including customer invoicing and collection follow-up.
  • Perform account reconciliations and prepare supporting documentation for the Support Office accounting team.
  • Review accounting transactions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company procedures.
  • Assist with inventory reporting, physical inventory counts, and investigation of inventory variances.
  • Serve as an accounting resource for General Managers by answering questions and assisting with financial processes.
  • Support month-end and year-end accounting requirements by preparing reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Partner with the Support Office accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and operational efficiencies.
  • Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and airport security requirements.

What you will bring:

  • 4-5 years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably supporting multi-unit restaurant, hospitality, retail, or food service operations.
  • Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle
  • Experience supporting multiple locations or business units
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software and restaurant POS systems, including Toast, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
  • Must be able to pass an airport background check and qualify for airport badging.
