Job description

SUMMARY: Responsible for the day-to-day activities of the store to optimize sales and profitability, while providing customers a positive shopping experience. Functions may be performed by the incumbent or through subordinates. Other duties may be assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Personnel Management

  • Hiring and Training of Assistant Store Managers and Customer Service Representatives.
  • Complete New Hire Packet on every new employee prior to working.
  • Complete all job performance reviews on CSRs and ASMs on schedule and timely basis.
  • Coordinate store staffing needs and complete weekly work schedules.
  • Manage store payroll budget to established company benchmark.
  • Complete weekly payroll procedures in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Address, communicate and document store-level employees’ situations up to and including terminations with prior approval from the District Manager/Team Lead and Human Resources.
  • With District Manager/Team Lead input; counsel and discipline employees when necessary using Company Forms and Employment Policies.
  • Motivate, encourage, and challenge store-level personnel to excel in Customer Service, leading by example.
  • Maintain effective and professional communications with company personnel and management.

Store Operations

  • Implement and enforce daily store operating policies and procedures.
  • Enforce and adhere to all industry law regulations and company policy (i.e TABC/DMV/Law Enforcement).
  • Establish and maintain effective business relations with customers, suppliers and other business resources.
  • Review and complete daily store paperwork and computer data entry timely.
  • Responsible for daily bank functions including deposit and store change funds.
  • Maintain Quality Store Image Standards; Entire site presentation.
  • Monitor cash over/short, inventory shrinkage and transactions (returns, discounts, credits) daily.
  • Conduct Monthly Inventory to control and monitor shrink (done on a Sunday).
  • Review monthly inventory audit recap with ASMs and all CSRs.
  • Conduct monthly store-level communications (Manager choose topic) pre-inventory (20-30min Max).
  • Perform CSR duties on a regular basis.
  • Communicate customer and product complaints to the appropriate depts. for action plan.
  • Review monthly store sales, margins, customer count and avrg sale with District Manager/Team Lead and/or Regional Manager based off Period Planner Goals.
  • Assist DM/TL/RM in controlling store direct operating expenses (i.e. salaries, supplies, utilities, phone, etc.).
  • Monitor store-level repairs and maintenance expenses.
  • Understand all RMS functions and daily/monthly reporting responsibilities.
  • Ensure all Management IT programs, policies and procedures relating to store level computer systems (i.e. internet, email, confidential info etc.) are followed.

Marketing and Merchandising

  • Monitor daily product movement and work with vendor partners for replenishment orders that coincide with schematic and margin targets set by WB category management.
  • Review Merchandising/Marketing Store Evaluations with ASM and all CSRs.
  • Assist Marketing Department in implementing programs to achieve merchandise sales and profit margin objectives.
  • Implement monthly and other periodic product promotions, insuring that all store-level POS advertising/signage is properly posted.
  • Properly communicate all requests for product additions, deletions and/or price changes to the Profit Optimizer.
  • Monitor retail prices to verify pricing accuracy set by Marketing Department.
  • Properly communicate any problems with merchandise product data (i.e. scan codes, cost, retail etc.) to the Price Book Manager in a timely manner.
  • Provide support to Marketing Department with store and cooler resets.
  • Implement and enforce all merchandising policies and procedures.

Safety & Security

  • Follow Safe Banking procedures to/from specified bank location.
  • Regularly check cameras, DVRs, monitor(s) to ensure proper working condition.
  • Enforce and review Safety and Security Policies and Practices with all employees.
  • Review and report regular Safety and Security memos to all employees.
  • Process all store level Accident & Injury reports in a timely manner.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and - 2 years retail experience and- 3 years demonstrated management experience.PC skills including MS Word, Excel, OutlookRequired to have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
