How You'll Make an Impact

As an Acrylic Operator you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving excellence in filtering, manufacturing, packaging, and shipping of our finished products.. In this role, you will:

  • Safely and effeciently filter finished latex from reactors to storage tanks.  This means operating our machinery and systems in a safe manager according to our SOPs; verifying that the latex is meeting our quality  and quantity requirements and documenting it in our computer systems..  
  • Package and ship customer bulk orders  including calculations for correct tanker input/output, inspeciting  the tanker, taking proper samples and completeing the tickets and bills of lading.
  • Package and ship drum orders, including: proper sampling and labeling, completion of the packing list and the bill of lading and the proper use of a forklift.
  • Select and use pumps, lines, hoses and filtration equipment including inspection and cleaning as well as informing their Team Leader of maintenance work requests needed to repair defective equipment.
  • Checks and maintenance of the scrubber system daily including: sampling, draining knock-out pots, adjusting flows, changing out solutions and recording QC results in the log book.
  • Store raw materials and finished products in an organized and safe manner.
  • Keep your work area and warhouse areas clean and safe. .

 

Required Qualifications that Enables Your Success

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience as an operator in a chemical manufacturing is preferred, but not required.
  • A high level of safety awareness is required.
  • Job duties include lifting 55 lb. bags and climbing stairs and ladders.
  • Plant operators must be medically fit to wear a negative pressure respirator.
  • Basic math skills, reading comprehension and ability to communicate with others.
  • Must satisfactorily complete all safety training courses as offered by management.

 

Your Work Environment
The Gastonia, NC location is about 30 miles west of downtown Charlotte, sitting close to the border of South Carolina. This site is currently experiencing some growth, though it currently has about 75 full-time employees. As part of the Advanced Materials division, this site produces a liquid acrylic polymer emulsion, which can be identified in end-use products such as latex or coatings applications.
