Job description

Shop Machinist

Rio Controls & Hydraulics is looking for an experienced hydraulic technician with potential growth into a supervisor or management role of your own location in Staten Island. Currently we have a healthy book of business with one mid-level technician and looking to bring in experienced hands on hydraulic technician to help in growing the business. Great small company environment. We currently have 5 locations around the nation where we support each other location as needed. Each location operates autonomously. Management in each location is responsible to meet budget goals and quality standards without corporate interference. Must be a self-starter, motivated, operate with integrity and fairness and be customer orientated. Great Compensation!


Responsibilities:

  1. Duties:
    1. Setup and Operate a variety of machines (Manual and CNC), tools, etc to produce materials for jobs, service or facilities
    2. Fabricate and Modifying material
    3. Utilize Machining Knowledge and Mechanical aptitude to assist in engineering, design and assembly
    4. Assist mechanical engineer with programming for CNC machines.
    5. Any other duties required by the company
  2. Service
    1. Maintaining a high level of communication with the Service Supervisor and Mechanical Engineer
    2. Responsible for equipment/tooling and consumables for job and any items to complete the task(s) asked of them
    3. Responsible in helping keeping machinist area clean
  3. Project Management:
    1. Responsible for letting the Service Manager and Mechanical Engineer know if help is needed on projects to complete the repairs in the allotted time
  4. Inventory and Recording:
    1. Responsible for making sure that all parts taken from inventory are written down and all paperwork is turned into the Office Coordinator and Service Supervisor
    2. Responsible for making sure all parts not used on the job are turned back into Inventory Control Department

Qualifications:

  1. Education
    1. High School or GED Diploma
  2. Practical Experience
    1. TWIC Card
    2. Valid Driver’s License
    3. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Machinist
    4. Good communications skills
    5. Knowledge in reading and interpreting schematics for machining
