Clinical Role

Join an established Hematology/Oncology department in Marshfield, Wisconsin, providing full-time coverage for an ongoing locum need beginning ASAP. This opportunity is for a provider who can manage both Hematology and Oncology patients, rather than a Medical Oncology-only role.

The provider will work Monday through Friday in the clinic, participate in a 1:4 weekly hospital call rotation, and provide daily inpatient rounding. Clinical responsibilities include acute leukemia patients, inpatient chemotherapy patients, bone marrow biopsies, chemotherapy supervision, and follow-up documentation for patients who have undergone Autologous Stem Cell Transplant and CAR-T Cell Therapy.

  • Evaluate and manage Hematology patients
  • Evaluate and manage Oncology patients
  • Manage acute leukemia patients
  • Manage inpatient chemotherapy patients
  • Perform bone marrow biopsies
  • Provide daily inpatient rounding
  • Round approximately 1-2 hours per day
  • Complete additional weekday afternoon rounding from 4:00 PM-5:00 PM
  • Supervise chemotherapy patients as needed
  • Each provider supervises their own patients in the Chemo Clinic
  • Respond to weekday clinic calls
  • Accept add-on Hematology/Oncology consults
  • Provide coverage when other providers are unavailable
  • Provide approximately 5-10 phone consultations

Chemotherapy Clinic

Each provider supervises their own patients in the Chemo Clinic. The locum provider will also help supervise chemotherapy patients when other providers are unavailable.

  • Approximately 5-10 phone consultations
  • Inpatient volume includes acute leukemia and inpatient chemotherapy patients
  • Assigned and unassigned patients
  • Daily inpatient rounding for approximately 1-2 hours
