Job description

Overview:

If you're looking for the stability of a profitable, growing company with the energy and ownership mindset of a startup, SageSure may be the right fit. SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking a highly motivated Manager to support and lead Ceded Reinsurance placements from start to finish. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the business through supporting reinsurance placement strategy, structuring, cat bond and sidecar issuances, business planning, financial analysis, and Carrier Partner mandates. The Manager will work closely with reinsurance brokers, the broader Ceded Re team, internal SageSure teams, and executive leadership to drive placement outcomes, optimize risk transfer and capital strategies, and support internal and affiliated captive mandates. SageSure Ceded Reinsurance supports its Carrier Partners in placing approximately $5B of first event limit in 2026, with continued growth expected. Candidates for this high-visibility role should bring proven reinsurance experience, strong organizational skills, excellent judgment, and the ability to independently lead complex placements while collaborating effectively with internal and external partners.

What you'd be doing:

  • Support some and lead other end-to-end reinsurance placements, including strategy, execution, and follow-through with brokers, internal teams, and executive leadership
  • Coordinate catastrophe bond and sidecar diligence efforts, managing requests and facilitating collection and delivery of Agreed-Upon Procedures (AUP) and supporting documentation to external legal counsel
  • Support internal and affiliated captive mandates, as well as risk transfer and capital strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives
  • Partner with Carrier Partners, including coordination with Carrier Presidents and Underwriting Oversight Committees, to communicate strategy, placement structure, and results
  • Develop renewal marketing presentations, workbooks, and supporting materials for reinsurance markets, including the collection and validation of required data
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of reinsurance and third-party capital transactions, and build a Ceded Reinsurance Center of Excellence to centralize key records, facilitate document sharing, and ensure internal and external access to critical materials
  • Track meeting materials, notes, action items, and next steps for broker and market meetings, coordinating scheduling and follow-up
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with underwriting, claims, finance, legal, and other internal teams to ensure proper application and operational understanding of reinsurance contracts. Experience with contract review and execution is a plus
  • Track and report on reinsurer participation and support across SageSure programs, including limits placed across reinsurance towers
  • Perform ad hoc analysis, reporting, and special projects in support of reinsurance placements and broader strategic initiatives

We're looking for someone who has:

  • 2-5 years of experience at a reinsurance broker, reinsurer, buyer of reinsurance, or similar, with hands-on exposure to placements and capital solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex reinsurance placements from start to finish, including planning, execution, and follow-up
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple workstreams, track deadlines, and manage stakeholders effectively
  • Excellent analytical capabilities, sound business judgment, and a strategic mindset
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills, including data analysis, exhibit creation, and presentation formatting
  • Exceptional attention to detail, including the ability to take and organize comprehensive notes and maintain accessible records for senior leadership
  • Confidence to independently manage challenging assignments while collaborating effectively with internal teams and external partners
  • Bachelor's degree

 Highly preferred candidates also have:

  • A degree in actuarial science, finance, economics, or another quantitative discipline
  • Experience with contracts, including review, execution, or operational application of reinsurance agreements
  • Relevant professional certifications such as the Associate in Reinsurance (ARe), CPCU, or similar designations
  • Experience in building processes or knowledge management systems, or other document/data repositories for internal and external stakeholders
