Position Summary

MacAllister CAT's Field Swings are responsible for visiting customer sites to perform small repairs, updates, and services on the road. The Field Swing works on a busy schedule, often to a customer’s demands, but gets the opportunity to directly interact with customers day in and day out, to better understand their needs to provide exceptional service.

Responsibilities

Travel from customer to customer as per schedule to perform service relating to lubricating, oiling, and maintaining field equipment. As part of the dispatch, you may also perform the following tasks:

  • Adjusting V-Belts.
  • Tightening or replacing loose or missing bolts or fasteners.
  • Replacing a Ground Engaging Tool such as bolt-on teeth or tips. Also, may replace a bolt-on cutting edge on small loaders.
  • Adjusting track tension.
  • Replacing a lamp, lens, or bulb in the electrical system.
  • Replacing a blown fuse or a bad switch (without performing diagnostics) in the electrical system.
  • Replacing a seat pad or armrest.
  • Replacing wiper blades.
  • Replacing cab hardware such as knobs, door latches, and steps
  • Repairing or replacing safety equipment such as a backup alarm (without diagnostics), seat belt, or mirrors.
  • Reel load bank/generator cables.
  • Repair, fabricate and replace hoses.
  • Retrieves codes, downloads, and performs minor calibrations.

Qualifications

To qualify for consideration, you must have the following:

  • Strong experience performing service and maintenance on trucks or heavy equipment.
  • Track record of being punctual at work.
  • Possess strong communication skills to gather information from customers as required.
  • Possess a DOT Medical Card and CDL A License by the first day on the job.
