Senior Commercial/Industrial HVAC Service Technician (A-Tech)

Compensation: $30–$55/hour (up to $55/hour for exceptional candidates) + $2,000 Sign-On Bonus

Our client has been a trusted leader in commercial and industrial HVAC services throughout Alabama since 1991. Their technicians service some of the region's largest commercial facilities, industrial plants, healthcare systems, educational institutions, and government facilities.

They specialize in large-scale commercial HVAC equipment, including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, and building automation systems.

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced A-Level Commercial HVAC Service Technician who takes pride in diagnosing complex mechanical issues and delivering quality repairs with minimal supervision.


Position Summary

As a Senior Commercial/Industrial HVAC Service Technician (A-Tech), you will troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain large commercial and industrial HVAC systems throughout the Madison area.

This is a field-based service position for experienced technicians who enjoy solving complex problems and working independently.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on large commercial equipment.
  • Service commercial package units ranging from 50 to 100+ tons.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical system failures.
  • Service and repair rooftop units (RTUs), package units, boilers, pumps, and cooling systems.
  • Perform startup, repairs, and system performance testing.
  • Read wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and provide exceptional service.
  • Complete work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation approximately every 5–6 weeks.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience (7+ years preferred).
  • Experience servicing and diagnosing large commercial HVAC systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Experience working on 50–100+ ton commercial equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience servicing any of the following is highly preferred:

  • Commercial chillers
  • Industrial boilers
  • Cooling towers
  • Water pumps
  • Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Commercial controls
  • Large rooftop units (RTUs)
  • Trane CGAM or similar screw/scroll compressor systems
