Job description
We have an outstanding Contract to Hire position for an HVAC Project Manager to join a leading Company located in the Fort Stewart, GA surrounding area.
**US Citizenship is required.**
Responsibilities:
- Serve as one of the primary on-site leaders for execution on assigned projects, including installation, service, and maintenance of building equipment, systems, and technologies, primarily working with electrical, building automation (BAS, and HVAC mechanical equipment.
- Manages the selection, scope of work, procurement, quality, and payment of project materials, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Negotiates, prepares, and issues subcontracts.
- Develops project schedules and executes according to plan.
- Ensures that assigned projects are done accurately, on time, billed within budget, and within scope of the contract.
- Ensures work performed is in compliance with contracts and legal requirements and operates on the job with the highest of ethics.
- Adheres to and ensures project personnel and subcontractors adhere to all safety standards, internal policies, and US Army Corps of Engineers requirements regarding health and safety.
- Understand project and contract scopes; actively pursue growth opportunities that will help the customer achieve desired outcomes.
- Help prepare and approve cost estimates, contract terms & conditions, and technical responses to client requests for information, bids, and proposals.
- Ensure electricians, mechanics, technicians, and subcontractors complete assigned work per established standards, and thoroughly communicate the services performed and completion criteria to customers.
- Along with the Senior Project Manager, analyze financial reporting and project schedules to proactively address potential problems.
- Effectively communicate project progress, issues, and financial status to leadership as required.
- Provide periodic project status updates and monthly revenue, cost, and gross margin forecasts.
- Manage risk, establish project recovery plans, and resolve disputes to minimize escalation.
- Ensure project document controls and deliverables comply with contract requirements and company standards.
- Manage the selection, ordering, and delivery schedule of materials to be procured for the projects assigned.
- Coordinates customer-training requirements.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
- Experience managing technical teams supporting mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or other technical building trades.
- Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Strong experience with project scheduling and coordination for labor and materials.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
- Strong personal computer working capabilities in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic Windows environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances as needed (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check).
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent work-related experience.
- Management experience with projects related to commercial or industrial-sized HVAC mechanical equipment (chillers, boilers, Air Handlers, VAV's, etc.) and related controls, BAS management, and/or Utility Metering Systems.
- Experience working with projects including large HVAC mechanical equipment (chillers, boilers, etc).
- Estimating experience with MEP-related projects.
- Experience working with quality control/quality assurance documentation.
- Experience reading and interpreting government contracts and government procurement standards.
- Experience managing multiple trades and subcontractors.
- Proficient in Project Management software and financial accounting systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project preferred.
