Responsibilities
  • Market making for intertest rates products including local currency government bonds, interest rate swaps, inflation swap and cross currency swaps in Latin American currencies in Latin American countries (except Brazil) in compliance of Bank of Americas policies, which requires developing the clients' needs, knowing the market, and being proactive.
  • Actively handle the risk arising from market making activities, within the framework established by market risk management policies, including risk limits, tenor limits and credit approvals.
  • Actively help develop the franchise by providing good and timely price quotes, but also provide consistent market color to clients and have meetings or phone conversations as needed, in order to establish key partnerships with sales people.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of macroeconomic and political events in both the covered countries and major economies, which allows anticipation of market moves and is key to assess marketing risk.
  • Handle operational risk, including booking all transactions in a timely manner, learning to use the pricing systems and having an accurate tracking of where market prices are at all times.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related: and
  • 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related Finance occupation.
  • Must include 2 years of experience in each of the following:
  • Breaking down ambiguous business problems into structured components for cost/revenue/risk assessment and applying this logic to decompose yield curve movements into drivers including monetary policy, inflation expectations, market microstructure;
  • Using Excel to prepare regression analyses in order to identify correlations between macro indicators and interest rate/fx movements for market sizing and supply and logistics analysis;
  • Utilizing Tableau and Alteryx to present data in a clean and impactful way for reporting, trading, and meeting material purposes, which is used in risk reporting and with trading dashboards; and,
  • Translating complex analysis into clear, persuasive narratives to various stakeholders in client meetings and communications using PowerPoint and Bloomberg.

Discretionary incentive eligible
This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
