Job description

Financial Analyst - Business Finance Lead

Company:

The Boeing Company - Experimental Systems Group (ESG) is seeking a Financial Analyst - Business Finance Lead (Level 4) to oversee daily financial operations, manage cost structures, and drive Earned Value Management System (EVMS) compliance. You will partner closely with Program Management, Contracts, Control Account Managers (CAMs), and Scheduling to deliver accurate Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasting and required customer deliverables. This position is located in either Seal Beach or El Segundo, California or Kennedy Space Center, Florida.

Position Responsibilities:

Financial Operations & Cost Management

  • Manage Day-to-Day Activities: Oversee daily program financial operations, budget allocations, and funding tracking.

  • Control Cost Structure: Maintain the program cost baseline, monitor actual costs, and optimize financial structures.

  • Lead EAC Processing: Coordinate monthly Estimate at Completion (EAC) updates, ensuring accurate final cost projections

Change Management & Reporting

  • Process Change Documents: Implement formal contract modifications and baseline changes into the financial system.

  • Deliver Monthly Reporting: Generate and review monthly financial performance reports and forecasts.

  • Manage CDRL Deliverables: Prepare and submit formal Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) financial reports to the customer.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Program Management and Contracts: Providing financial guidance and support for customer deliverables.

  • Partner with CAMs: Guide Control Account Managers through financial planning, variance analysis, and corrective actions.

  • Align with Scheduling: Work closely with the scheduling team to integrate the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) with cost systems.

Technical Skills

  • EVMS Expertise: Strong proficiency in Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles and compliance.

  • Tool Proficiency: Direct hands-on experience using BestPlanners and Cost Schedule Planning and Reporting (CSPR).

  • Analytical Skills: Advanced data modeling, variance analysis, and financial forecasting capabilities.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Currently have a Bachelor's Degree or higher

  • 3+ years of experience in a Finance, Accounting, Business or related role

  • 3+ years of experience performing Estimates at Completion (EAC)

  • 3+ years of experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)

  • 3+ years of experience presenting and communicating data in Senior Leadership briefings

  • 3+ years of work experience with the Microsoft Excel application using: formulas, VLookups, pivot tables, charts, filters, and linking worksheets

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with Financial forecasting

  • Experience with one or more of the following financial systems: Cognos, Interactive Reporting Environment (IRE), Enterprise Analysis System (EAS), Cost Schedule Performance Reporting (CSPR)

  • Experience using BestPlanners
