Job description

The Airline Aircraft Engineer will provide engineering and technical support to aircraft operations and aircraft maintenance activities to include preparation of engineering documentation for modification and repair of aircraft structure, systems and/or components; research and define required materials, parts, tooling, processes and procedures needed to accomplish modifications/repairs; develop work instructions; evaluate and define special tasks; determine accomplishment and scheduling requirements; perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • BS Engineering or Engineering Technology OR AS Engineering Technology or related field plus 2 years of airline/aerospace engineering experience OR BS (any discipline) plus 2 years of airline/aerospace engineering experience OR more than 5 years aviation related engineering experience with an A&P license and at least 10 years of heavy transport category aircraft maintenance experience
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, system schematics, wiring diagrams, and other complex data associated with aircraft repair and modifications
  • Familiar with CAD/drawing programs
  • Knowledge and practical skills in technical subjects including Structures, Hydraulics, Avionics, Electrical, Pneumatics, Fuel and Powerplant Systems
  • Strong written and oral technical communication skills with ability to describe, discuss and resolve technical questions and problems
  • Ability to research and analyze technical data, information and graphics materials to ensure accurate, complete and understandable results
  • Travel required once yearly and/or as needed.

Preferred skills:

  • Airframe and Powerplant license
  • Six Sigma training
  • Working knowledge and training with CAD programs
  • Working knowledge and training on Boeing aircraft
  • Exposure/experience with commercial air transport aircraft
