Job description

The Fitness Equation is looking for a professional, performance-driven Group Exercise Instructor.


Responsibilities

  • Teach quality group exercise class programs in accordance with club and industry standards while ensuring the safety of our members and guests.
  • Work with club management and staff to create an inspiring and positive environment to motivate members and produce results. Maintain a positive attitude and focus on the member and guest experience always.
  • Present a professional and motivating personal appearance to inspire members and encourage their commitment to their own personal health; be a role model.
  • Be punctual and respectful, maintaining communication well in advance with club management regarding an inability to fulfill obligations for any reason, and always follow club guidelines while teaching.
  • Support the club, group exercise program, other TFE instructors and staff, members and guests while following employee policies and procedures.
  • Keep Group Exercise area clean and professional immediately after each class in preparation for the next class. Instruct members and guests to return all equipment to designated storage location.


Qualifications

  • Instructors having a specialized skill such as Yoga, Pilates, Les Mills Body Pump, etc. must provide verifiable proof instructor certification or degree (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, AEA) preferred.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot audio equipment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate providing appropriate eye contact, smiles and body language, and verbally when giving and taking information.
