Job description

JOB SUMMARY
This position will perform advanced level work in the painting and finishing of interior and exterior surfaces and structures. Cleans and prepares paint surfaces as well as cleans surrounding areas to ensure the best product possible. Mixes various kinds of paint to exact tolerances and adheres to paint manufacturers specifications to insure a high quality finish.
Responsibilities include:
  • Cleaning and preparing paint surface
  • Sanding premiered surfaces when needed
  • Mixing paint
  • Wearing paint suits mask/hood and gloves or other PPE
  • Moving material with forklift or by hand when applicable
  • Hanging and unhanging product as needed.
  • Proper storage of paint supplies
  • Proper disposal of paint residue

PRINCIPAL CONTACTS INSIDE/OUTSIDE THE COMPANY
This position interacts with shop employees and management.
COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Must know how to properly maintain and wear paint suits mask/hood and gloves or other PPE
  • Must know how to paint using a pressure pot and an HVLP Pressure/Siphon Feed Spray gun
  • Must clean work area after use
  • Must know how to use proper equipment to hang products for painting

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2+ years of experience in powder coating

EQUIPMENT USED
This position will use a HVLP Pressure/Siphon Feed Spray gun, Paint Pot, and Measuring equipment such as paint stick and or cups.
WORKING AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONS
This position will be in an indoor work environment, standing in one place for long periods of time, walking, and bending their body in different directions according to how parts should be painted.
